Senator Fred R. Harris received a request for information from the American Truck Driving Academy regarding training programs offered by the Bureau of Indian Affairs. The Bureau stated they have no record of the Academy requesting course approval and provided information on criteria for approval. The Academy expressed disappointment in the lack of support for training Indians as diesel truck drivers and requested assistance from Senator Harris in providing training for Indian individuals to enter the transportation industry.
