Scope and Contents

The Sac and Fox Tribe of Missouri in Kansas is requesting assistance from Congressman James R. Jones in obtaining a fair share of Indian Claims Commission Docket 153, which has not been distributed to the three tribes entitled to it. They believe the larger Sac & Fox Tribe of Oklahoma is unfairly receiving a disproportionate share of the award due to their large membership and strong congressional delegation. The Sac & Fox Tribe of Missouri and the Sac & Fox Tribe of Mississippi have reaffirmed their position on the division of funds and are appealing to Congressman Jones to ensure a fair and equitable distribution of the judgment fund.
