Scope and Contents
The text contains a letter from Matthew Kane to Congressman James R. Jones, in which Kane discusses the proposed Osage legislation. Kane speculates that Ted Risenhoover, who is opposed to the legislation, may try to push it through without giving people a chance to object. Kane also reports that the Osage County Bar Association has met with the Tribal Council to discuss the bill, and that the council has agreed to study the bar's suggestions. However, Kane is worried that the council may try to pass the bill without giving people a chance to weigh in.
