Scope and Contents
The House of Representatives rejected the Administrations proposals to eliminate Title IV funding and reduce overall Indian Education funding. The budget proposal restored funding for Title 1V and increased the fiscal year 1984 level to $78 million. Indian education funding overall was increased to $375 million from the Presidents proposed level of $250 million. The Senate has not yet acted on a budget resolution for FY 198%. The writer hopes that no further effort will be made to eliminate funding for these programs and promises to continue supporting Title 1V and all Indian Education programs.
