Scope and Contents
The United States Jaycees have undertaken activities and programs in alcohol abuse and alcoholism prevention. They have participated in hearings and have designated alcohol abuse prevention as a national emphasis program. They have passed resolutions supporting responsible drinking and promoting the Uniform Alcoholism Act to treat alcoholism as a disease and provide treatment instead of punishment. Congressman James R. Jones is currently out of the country but will be informed about the Jaycees' efforts upon his return.
