Scope and Contents
This treaty establishes the Great Sioux Reservation in the Dakota Territory, and provides for the construction of various buildings and infrastructure by the US government. Additionally, it stipulates that any individual Sioux head of a family can select up to 320 acres of land to farm, and that other Sioux over the age of 18 can select up to 80 acres for cultivation. Finally, it outlines the agent's duties and states that any wrongdoers against the Sioux will be punished according to US law.
