The letter is from Ross Swimmer, Principal Chief of the Cherokee Nation, to Congressmen Risenhoover and Jones requesting their help in discussing the need for a replacement hospital in Tahlequah in closed hearings of the House on Indian Health Service appropriations. Swimmer mentions that planning money for the facility was deleted from the budget and asks for assistance in getting it included. He also mentions the possibility of funding through new local Public Works funding. Congressman Jones responds expressing his awareness of the need for modern medical facilities and willingness to cooperate with initiatives in the area.
