Scope and Contents

Mr. Lewis received a letter from Carl Albert regarding the $8.5 million payment for the sale of Choctaw and Chickasaw coal and asphalt lands. Carl Albert assured Mr. Lewis that the full amount is requested by the Bureau of the Budget and will be included in the Interior Department appropriation bill. There was a misunderstanding in the newspapers about the amount requested, but Carl Albert will ensure that the full appropriation for payments is passed as soon as possible.
