Scope and Contents

Mr. and Mrs. Rockman wrote a letter to Congressman Carl Albert inquiring about the appropriation for payment of Choctaw and Chickasaw segregated coal and asphalt lands. Congressman Albert responded, informing them that Congress passed a bill including $8,500,000 for payment of these lands on a per capita basis to enrolled members of the tribes. He assured them that the payments would be made as soon as possible and offered his assistance in the future.
