Mr. J.W. Duncan inquired about the payment to members of the Choctaw and Chickasaw Tribes for the sale of their coal lands. Carl Albert, a member of Congress, informed Duncan that the full amount of $8,500,000 is included in a bill that has passed the Senate but is currently held up in the Appropriations Committee. Albert assured Duncan that he is working to resolve the issue as soon as possible. Albert also received a letter from Jackson Acres requesting information about the payments.
