Scope and Contents
Mrs. Nancy C. Young received a letter from Carl Albert, a congressman, thanking her for her support in passing a bill for payment to the Choctaws and Chickasaws for the sale of their coal lands to the government. The Indian Office has advised that enrolled members of the tribes will receive their payments first, with checks being sent out by the Superintendent of the Five Civilized Tribes Agency in Muskogee, Oklahoma. Mrs. Young expressed her thanks for getting the bill passed in a letter to Carl Albert.
