Scope and Contents

Mr. Finis Fox wrote a letter to Congressman Carl Albert inquiring about the sale of segregated coal and asphalt lands to the government and when payment will be made to the Chickasaws and Choctaws for this land. Congressman Albert responds that the full amount has been included in an appropriation bill and that he intends to have the Office of Indian Affairs make the per capita payments as quickly as possible. He also mentions that he will consider Mr. Fox's comments on the wage and hour bill and the oleo tax measure. Congressman Albert expresses his commitment to settling the matter as early as possible and sends his best regards.
