Scope and Contents
Legal and disruptive measures are being considered to stop the ceremonial inauguration of Ross Swimmer as chief of the Cherokee Nation. A petition has been prepared to void the election won by Swimmer and block the inauguration. Swimmer, however, maintains that he is already chief after taking the oath of office. The situation is set to be discussed in U.S. District Court.
