Scope and Contents
Mrs. J.B. Hayes wrote to Congressman Carl Albert regarding the payment to Choctaws and Chickasaws for the sale of their coal lands. She was informed that living enrolled members will be paid first, with notices to heirs to follow. She was advised to notify the Superintendent of her husband's death and request a proof of heirship notice. Three of her children are on the rolls and will be amongst the first to be paid. Mrs. Hayes also expressed concerns about her children who are not on the rolls, and requested information on their eligibility for payment.
