Scope and Contents
Mr. and Mrs. Reynolds wrote to Congressman Carl Albert asking about the payment for the sale of coal lands to the government by the Choctaw and Chickasaw Nations. The Indian Office advised that living enrolled members will be paid first, with proof of heirship notices sent out later in the fall. The Five Civilized Tribes Agency will determine who the legal heirs are and how much they will receive. Congressman Albert assured the Reynolds that the local Indian Agent can help them with any questions they may have.
