Scope and Contents

Mrs. Lula Coker writes to Carl Albert, M.C. inquiring about the per capita payments to Choctaw and Chickasaw Indians for the sale of their coal lands to the government. She asks about the amount of payment she will receive and if she will also receive payments for deceased members she previously received. Carl Albert responds, informing her that enrolled members will receive around $300 each and heirs will receive payments based on the number of legal heirs of the deceased member. He explains the process for payments and heirship determination. He assures Mrs. Coker that checks will be sent out within the next sixty days.
