Scope and Contents
Mr. Willie Spring wrote to Carl Albert, a congressman from Oklahoma, about the payment to members of the Choctaw and Chickasaw Nations for the sale of their coal lands to the government. Carl Albert advised Mr. Spring to contact the Five Civilized Tribes Agency in Muskogee, Oklahoma, for his roll number. He also mentioned that living enrolled members would be paid first in mid-July. Mr. Spring requested his roll number from Carl Albert in order to receive his payment.
