Scope and Contents

Tribal council members from the Cheyenne & Arapaho Tribes of Oklahoma sent letters to government officials requesting a referendum on contracting the Concho School and Agency under P. L. 93.638. The Business Committee had not conducted the referendum as required by the tribal constitution, leading to concerns and requests for action from the Assistant Secretary of the Interior and the Area Director. The council members emphasized the importance of following tribal regulations and protecting the interests and rights of the tribes.
