Scope and Contents

The letter from Mr. Bassett to Congresswoman Helen Gahagan Douglas discusses the concern of labor over the reduction of monthly government assistance for veterans in the Apprentice Training Program. The resolution adopted by the Los Angeles Central Labor Council requests that President Truman restore the original benefits of the program, as the current assistance is not sufficient to cover living expenses.
