Scope and Contents
Mr. Franklin inquired about payments to Choctaw and Chickasaw Indians for the sale of their coal lands. He was advised that as an enrolled member, he does not need to fill out any papers to receive his share. Checks will be mailed out by the Superintendent of the Five Civilized Tribes Agency. After living enrolled members are paid, proof of heirship notices will be sent out to heirs to determine legal heirs and their share. Congressman Carl Albert provided this information in response to Mr. Franklin's inquiry.
