Mr. Charles E. Atherton from Edmond, Oklahoma wrote to Senator A. S. Mike Monroney regarding the negative effects of sonic booms on his laying hens and hogs. He expressed concerns about the impact on his livelihood and property, and questioned the necessity of the sonic booms. The Federal Aviation Agency conducted investigations on Mr. Atherton's farm but found no adverse effects. Senator Monroney forwarded Mr. Atherton's concerns to the FAA for further investigation. Mr. Atherton's letter highlighted the economic and health implications of the sonic booms and his dissatisfaction with the response from authorities.
