Scope and Contents
Major Marvin C. Reed suggested placing communication equipment in selected cities throughout the world to communicate with orbiting American astronauts. The National Aeronautics and Space Administration replied that while the suggestion has merit, technical and international obstacles make it impossible to carry out exactly as proposed. They are working on international arrangements to achieve a similar effect. Senator Robert S. Kerr forwarded Major Reed's suggestion to NASA for consideration and promised to provide an update once they have studied the proposal.
