Mrs. Dicky Smith received a letter from Carl Albert, M.C. regarding the payment to Choctaw and Chickasaw Indians for the sale of their coal lands to the government. The Indian Office will distribute payments to the heirs of deceased members after proof of heirship is provided. Living enrolled members will be paid first, with checks expected to be mailed out around the latter part of July. Payments are estimated to be around $300 per person.
