Scope and Contents

The University of Tulsa and the Muskogee Area Office of the Bureau of Indian Affairs cooperated on a study on language deficiencies of American Indian children in Oklahoma. The study found that 86% of these children had language deficiencies. A final report was submitted to Congressman Page Belcher requesting funding for a project at the Seneca Indian School to improve language capabilities. The report details procedures, findings, and recommendations for addressing communication problems in Indian children.
