The Inter Tribal Counsel of the Five Civilized Tribes recommended the appointment of Thomas J Ellison as Area Director for the Muskogee area of the Bureau of Indian Affairs. This recommendation was made unanimously at a meeting in Henryetta, Oklahoma. The President of the Inter Tribal Counsel, B Bob Stopp, made the announcement on April 19, 1973.
