Scope and Contents

The document discusses correspondence between various individuals and organizations regarding the reprinting of the Dictionary of the Choctaw Language by Reverend Cyrus Byington. The Smithsonian Institution Press and Johnson Reprint Corporation have expressed interest in reprinting the dictionary, which is currently out of print. Chief Belvin of the Choctaw Nation is particularly interested in this project due to a resurgence of interest in the Choctaw language among Choctaws. Congressman Carl Albert has been involved in facilitating communication between the parties involved in hopes of getting the dictionary reprinted.
