Scope and Contents
Reverend Bruce Conrad wrote to Page Belcher, a Member of Congress, requesting assistance in obtaining a building to be used as a chapel on the Chilocco School campus. The Bureau of Indian Affairs responded, stating that they do not have funds to provide separate buildings for religious worship, but the Superintendent will continue to provide space for religious services. They also mentioned that available construction funds should be used for more urgent needs. The Bureau suggested that students attend local churches for worship.
