Scope and Contents Handwritten manuscript draft by William H. Murray, the "Epitome of Rights of Americans," for the book of similar name, The Rights of Americans (1937). The draft critiques progressive interpretations of the "general welfare" clause to the Preamble of the US Constitution concerning government action. He further argues for the separation of economics and politics, as the former is defined by laws, like nature. The latter cannot control these, but only cooperate with them.

The typescript page to chapter IV discusses poetry as either metric or blank verse (FS, pp. 37 – 38). The typescript draft keeps to the general structure of the final. published chapter, but the latter contains further additions to the text.
