Scope and Contents Speaker Carl Albert opens the Centennial Safe at the U.S. Capitol, which was the vision of Anna Deihm to link the first 100 years of American history with the bicentennial celebration. The safe was first displayed in Philadelphia in 1876 and contains albums with photographs and signatures of important figures from the 44th Congress.
