Scope and Contents The Kerr Collection consists of over 368 linear feet of materials, the majority of which includes materials generated during his years in the Senate, though the Gubernatorial series does relate to his years as Oklahoma’s governor. As a Senator, Kerr was involved in a variety of issues and reforms of national and state prominence including conservation projects, the development of the space program, Native Americans issues and concerns, healthcare insurance reform, and agriculture....

A. S. "Mike" Monroney Collection

Scope and Contents The Monroney Collection is 98 linear feet in addition to audio-visual and oversize materials. Although Mike Monroney was in Congress from 1938 to 1968, his collection has very little material from many of his years of service. In 1973, the National Archives destroyed over 90 percent of his early papers. The bulk of the surviving collection is from the years 1962-1968. For the most part, the series divisions demonstrate what topics the collection covers.

Malvina Stephenson Collection

Scope and Contents Consisting of eight cubic feet of material, the Stephenson collection includes letters, clippings, speeches, newsletters, and press files. This material mainly concerns her work with Kerr and her research for a biography she intended to write on the senator. As a result, the subjects covered in the collection reflect the interests of Senator Kerr. Topics include water resource development, natural resource conservation, agriculture, petroleum industry and trade, education, and electric power....
