Book IX, Chapter S. "Appropriations by the Legislaturs [sic]." 2 pages., undated

 Item — Box: 5, Folder: 27
Identifier: CAC_CC_041_1_5_27_0009
Two handwritten pages, the second page a half sheet. The pages discuss how fiscal years work, with their potential difficulties as not coinciding with the calendar year that define the terms of legislative sessions and governors’ terms, with particular reference to Oklahoma. The half page contains list of the 12 governors of Oklahoma up to that point (1907 – 1945) and their respective fiscal years in office.

The book and chapter indicated here and as found on the first manuscript page written by William H. Murray is incorrect. “On Rebellions and Crime; Official Peculation,” is the actual title of chapter S, book IX in volume III.

The section concerning legislative appropriations is also in Volume III, but is Appendix Z-4, pp. 709 – 713 (“Appropriations by the Legislatures from 1907 to June 30, 1947: Also Cost of Departments and Institutions”). The manuscript page and a half correspond to pp. 709 – 710, the remainder being a table of legislative sessions, their fiscal years, their governors and their appropriations. What follows, unpaginated after p. 713, is a more extensive set of data on the state’s fiscal appropriations listed by governmental department or program.
