Opposed to members military having this right out of fear that it will corrupt politics, noting ancient Rome here (and soldiers are supposed to physically fit and obey commands—and not primarily engaged in reasoning For the same reason Murray is also opposed to “Universal Military Training,” making for too many unthinking voters, esp. in war time).
