News release from the Florida State News Bureau: Governor and Mrs. Robert S. Kerr, of Oklahoma, were "experts" today on things Floridian - especially of the edible category -following attendance at the Governors' Weekend here. Bad flying weather delayed the Kerr's arrival but they were on hand to see the Detroit Tigers lick the Boston Braves 8 to 4 in a Grapefruit League exhibition game. On Governor Kerr's left is Governor Millard Caldwell, of Florida, host to the party which also included the chief executives of Alabama, N. Carolina and Maryland. In addition to dining sumptuously on all-Florida products, including 50 gallons of pure sunshine state orange juice - the governors discussed mutual administrative problems, viewed an aquacade at Cypress Gardens, a fireworks display and participated in a ceremony dedicating a plaque to Frances Langford, Lakeland girl who made good in big time theatrical circles. Lakeland, Florida. c. 1943- 1947.
