Transcript – Full

Hello, I'm John Kennedy, the Democratic nominee. I come to the state of Pennsylvania and ask your help in this campaign. I believe that Pennsylvania and the nation need vigorous national leadership. Only 50% of the capacity of the steel mills of Pennsylvania is being used. 100,000 steel workers out of work, thousands of miners, nearly 700,000 Pennsylvanians have to wait for surplus food packages from the government every month. I don't think that Pennsylvania can develop its resources unless the United States itself is moving ahead, unless we have an administration in Washington that believes in progress, in caring for our aging, in better education, in full employment. We stand for these things in 1960, and I come and ask your help for a better and stronger America. You have just witnessed an important statement by the next President of the United States, John F. Kennedy.
