The letter is from James R. Jones, a member of Congress, to B. Bob Stopp, President of the Inter-Tribal Council of the Five Civilized Tribes. Jones thanks Stopp for his letter and resolution regarding the restructuring of the Bureau of Indian Affairs. The enclosed resolution expresses concern about the delays and disruptions caused by the constant reorganization and restructuring of the Bureau of Indian Affairs, and calls for the proposed realignment to proceed without further interference or delay. The resolution also asks for the dissolution of the Steering Committee and implementation working group, as they are causing further disruption of services to Indian people. Additionally, the resolution requests that Chairman James Abourezk refrain from further involvement in the realignment and instead focus on assisting all Indian people.
