Supporting President Ford's Economic and Energy Program: A Letter from Mrs. David T. Urmston, 1975-01-01 - 1975-12-31

 Item — Box: 22, Folder: 35
Identifier: CAC_CC_109_4_22_35_0038
The letter from Mrs. David T. Urmston to Honorable James R. Jones expresses general support for President Ford's economic and energy program. Mrs. Urmston agrees with raising the price of imported oil but is not in favor of raising taxes on domestic oil. She believes that the free market should govern oil prices and that any taxes on oil profits should encourage safe capital investment in drilling and other developments. Mrs. Urmston argues that raising taxes on oil will not benefit consumers and will only benefit black market dealers, while discouraging production and the development of new energy sources.
