Rep. James R. Jones of Oklahoma filed amended campaign finance reports showing he received more contributions and spent more money than previously reported due to bookkeeping errors during his 1972 campaign. He attributed the discrepancies to volunteers managing his records and not being able to afford a professional accountant. After amending his reports, he received approval from the clerk of the U.S. House.
