1974 News Release: Veterans Administration to Open Outpatient Drug Rehabilitation Clinic in Tulsa, 1974-04-15
The Veterans Administration plans to open an outpatient clinic in Tulsa on April 15, 1974, for the treatment and rehabilitation of veterans with drug dependencies. The clinic will focus on treating narcotic addiction, but will also address other drug problems. The staff will be trained to work with various types of drug dependence and will offer methadone maintenance for eligible individuals. The clinic aims to provide total rehabilitation for individuals, focusing on their physical, social, and vocational life. The clinic will be located at 1717 N. Peoria Avenue in the Seminole Hills Center and will offer individual, group, marital, and family counseling. Treatment at the clinic is confidential and staff are prohibited from disclosing information about individuals seeking services unless specifically requested.
